Commercially proven technology: MAN Solar Millennium

MAN Solar Millennium is a joint venture by MAN Ferrostaal and Solar Millennium AG, a project developer in the field of renewables that is active around the globe and specializes in solar thermal power plants. Solar Millennium AG provides the parabolic trough technology for the joint venture through its subsidiary Flagsol. This is a tried-and-tested technology that has been used commercially for over 20 years. MAN Solar Millennium covers all the main business areas along the value chain for solar thermal power plants, from project development and financing, to technology and turnkey construction of the plants, to operation of the power plants.

Groundbreaking strategy: Solar Power Group

The Solar Power Group specializes in the technological development and engineering of solar thermal power plants based on Fresnel technology. With the support of the German Aerospace Centre, the Solar Power Group and MAN Ferrostaal operate a demonstration plant in Almería, Spain, which proves the practical feasibility of this technology.

Unique technology: SOLITEM

SOLITEM GmbH is a young company that develops power supply systems for air conditioning in buildings using solar-powered absorption chillers. Several plants are operating on a commercial basis in Turkey. Further plants are currently being constructed or planned in Morocco, Jordan, Germany, Portugal and Turkey. At present, no comparable or commercially feasible technology is available on the market.
